Fly Outs
Fishing Wood Tikchik, Katmai, Togiak & Greater Bristol Bay
With 3 Dehavilland Beavers, 1 Cessna 206, 1 Cessna 172 XP, and the best float plane pilots in the business, Tikchik is positioned to show guests the best fishing Western Alaska has to offer. Fly outs allow us to access dozens of different rivers, streams and lake systems offering the greatest variety of fishing opportunities and fish species in Alaska.
Worldclass Char
Fishing for Arctic Char here is nothing short of remarkable. These powerful fish, known for their vibrant colors and tenacious fight, grow to trophy sizes in these waters, with many regularly reaching over 30 inches.
Their impressive size and beauty make them a bucket-list catch for anglers worldwide. With each cast, you’re not just fishing—you’re stepping into an experience that only Alaska’s untouched rivers and lakes can offer, where the possibility of landing a world-class Arctic char is as thrilling as the wilderness itself.
Salmon Fishing
From our lodge, anglers have the unique opportunity to catch all five species of Pacific salmon—Chinook (king), Coho (silver), Sockeye (red), Chum (dog), and Pink (humpy) salmon.
Each species offers its own thrill, but the king salmon are the true giants, often weighing over 25 pounds and putting up a legendary fight. Whether it’s the power of a king on the line or the acrobatics of a sockeye, fishing for salmon here promises an unforgettable experience in remote fisheries often far away from other lodges. We are well versed in using gear or flies to target every species of salmon. We can throw topwater flies or pink plugs on the surface for silvers, or help you swing flies for kings, pink and chum salmon. If you have questions don't hesitate to give us a call.
Alaskan Rainbow Trout
Our lodge provides access to some of the best rainbow trout fishing in Alaska, where they can grow up beyond 30-inches. These fish are the highwater mark for the guides at the lodge. When you hook into one, they will be just as excited about it as you are.
With fish often measuring over 25 inches, rainbow trout here don't fight like your classic Montana or Colorado tailwater trout. Pound for pound, there is no fish anywhere in the state that will put you to the same test as Wood-Tikchik rainbow. Whether you’re fishing near the lodge or heading out to explore our other fisheries, the trout fishing at Tikchik is one of the hallmarks of our fishing program.
