Our Homewaters
Fishing Wood Tikchik State Park, Alaska
Tikchik Narrows Lodge offers unparalleled fishing opportunities as soon as you walk out of your cabin. Our guests have the opportunity to fish as much as they like "after hours". This is a rare offering for an Alaskan fishing lodge. Our local waters offer fantastic opportunities to fish for trophy Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, Lake Trout, and Arctic Grayling. Every summer, you can witness Sockeye Salmon swimming past the lodge from the comfort of our deck. If the weather prohibits or delays your fly out, you’ll have the opportunity to fish a world class fishery on our homewater.
Fishing by boat from the lodge also provides access to thousands of acres of remarkable fisheries. Nearby Nuyukuk, Tikchik, and Chauekuktuli Lakes, along with their surrounding rivers and streams, yield some of the region’s largest Rainbow Trout, Arctic Grayling, Northern Pike, Lake Trout and Arctic Char. It's hard not to love a fishery that provides the diversity and size of species we have out our front door.

Spin Fishing
Tikchik Narrows Lodge is Western Alaska's premier traditional fishing operation, offering unrivaled access to the region's most remote rivers and lakes for conventional gear anglers.
Whether you grew up pitching bait for largemouth with a baitcaster, love to throw a castmaster, or geek out on center-pinning, we know exactly which fisheries are best suited for you. At Tikchik Narrows Lodge, you enjoy the best of both worlds: the timeless allure of gear fishing paired with the option of taking your first cast with a fly rod.
Fly Fishing
While gear fishing has its own appeal, fly fishing at Tikchik Narrows Lodge takes the adventure to another level. Imagine hooking into a trophy Arctic char on a streamer, casting dry flies for grayling in the Narrows, or reeling in your limit of salmon at the falls—all to yourself.
The sense of remoteness at Tikchik is truly unmatched. Our expert guides, who fish year-round in Alaska and worldwide, bring a wealth of skill, and genuine charm, to help you sharpen your technique and maximize your fun on the water. Our anglers may have the opportunity to sight-fish on small walk-and-wade creeks, cast topwater flies for chrome salmon on incoming tides, or target trophy northern pike near weed beds. Each outing is unique and your week is full of variety, crafted based on your specific interests.

Imagine stepping out of your cabin and casting a line just steps away, where crystal-clear waters offer a chance to hook grayling, lake trout, char, rainbow trout, or even sockeye salmon.
